On Track with Team Vodafone
Inclement weather failed to dampen the final testing session for Team Vodafone. Held on Tuesday 9 February at Queensland Raceway, the final practice before the team packs up to fly to Abu Dhabi for the first round of the season. The new car was in fine form on the track, with comprehensive testing and fine tuning being undertaken. There was even time to practice the all important pitstop, with the crew practicing re-fuelling and wheel changes lap after lap.
One of the highlights of the day was when the team opened the gates to pit lane and allowed the spectators in to check out the car up close. Drivers Craig Lowndes and Jamie Whincup took the time to speak to the group and talk them through the new setup, final preparations and their thoughts on the season ahead. Spectators lined the paddock to watch their team in final preparations and it was quite a sight to behold, with an overcrowded carpark and fans lining the barriers. A terrific day out, it was a wonderful chance for fans to meet the drivers and get an insight into what happens behind the scenes in a V8 Supercar Team.
